New Post Office open

The new Post Office at the Chain Lane Co-op in Knaresborough is now open.

The facility is a Post Office Local and offers most Post Office services including postal orders and postage, inland letters/packets (including signed for and special delivery), automated banking services, bill and budget payment schemes, Post Office card account and international letters/packets to a maximum of 6kg.

Andrew Jones MP said, "I had many discussions with the Post Office, the Co-op and local councillors even holding meetings in Westminster to bring the parties together. This news has been a long time coming but at last we have new Post Office facilities in Knaresborough."

The Post Office Local service is being trialled across the UK and in Knaresborough the trial will last 12 months. The Post Office Local opening hours will mirror those of the Co-op itself which are 7am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
